Montgomery receives 4 votes, Varco receives 6 votes. Varco is now Chair of the Charter Commission. Commissioner Lee arrives at 4:02 PM. Tobolt nominates Montgomery for Vice Chair. Montgomery accepts. A voice vote is taken and Montgomery receives a unanimous 11 votes. Commissioner McMurtery arrives at 4:05 PM. Montgomery nominates Donnelly-Cohen for Secretary. Donnelly-Cohen accepts. A voice vote is taken and Donnelly-Cohen receives a unanimous 12 votes.

City Council Operations Director Hausz gave an overview of the item that was referred to Charter Commission from the City Council. Commissioners had a chance to ask questions. There was discussion on how long the Charter Commission had before needing to take action on this item. More clarification needed from City Attorneys Office. A Public Hearing on this item will be held at a future date. Commissioner McMurtery left at 4:20 PM. Moved by Hahm, Charter Commission Items is Discussed, Amended and Laid Over to the Charter Commission, due back on 9/5/2023. The motion carried by an unanimous vote.
