    Vice Chair Ackerson called the meeting to order at 3:03 PM.

    Vice Chair Ackerson introduced the committee members and non-committee members present. A quorum was established.

    Mr. Talley spoke and answered questions about the American Syntheic Rubber Company modification request. Paul Aud, Air Pollution Control District, also spoke.

  6. 2. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR ON BEHALF OF METRO GOVERNMENT TO ACCEPT AN AMENDED AND RESTATED DEED OF SCENIC CONSERVATION EASEMENT ON A 5.58 ACRE EASEMENT PREVIOUSLY RECORDED ON PROPERTY NOW OWNED BY WILLIAM CRAWFORD LOCATED ON GRINSTEAD DRIVE IN JEFFERSON COUNTY, KENTUCKY.

    Action: recommended for approval Passed

    A motion was made by Committee Member Benson, seconded by Committee Member Stuckel, that this Resolution be recommended for approval. John Carroll, Jefferson County Attorney's Office, and Council Member Hollander spoke to the item. Committee Member Coan noted a technical correction was necessary in the fifth line of the first WHEREAS to change "Tayla" to "Layla". The motion carried by a voice vote and the Resolution was sent to the Consent Calendar.

  7. 3. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A $2,000 GRANT FROM THE BECKHAM BIRD CLUB TO FUND A BIRD HABITAT REMEDIATION PROJECT TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE METRO PARKS DEPARTMENT.

    A motion was made by Committee Member Benson, seconded by Committee Member Engel, that this Resolution be recommended for approval. Rebecca Minnick, Jefferson Memorial Forest, spoke to the item. The motion carried by a voice vote and the Resolution was sent to the Consent Calendar.

  8. 4. AN ORDINANCE CREATING A NEW SUBCHAPTER OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT CODE OF ORDINANCES RELATING TO THE PROTECTION OF PUBLIC TREES, TREE CANOPY AND ENVIRONMENTAL INFRASTRUCTURE (AMENDED BY SUBSTITUTION) (AS AMENDED).
