  7. 3. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT $150,000 OF FUNDING FROM THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY TRANSPORTATION CABINET FOR THE DESIGN PHASE FOR THE CANNONS LANE SIDEWALK PROJECT TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS & ASSETS.

    Action: recommended for approval Passed

    A motion was made by Committee Member Welch, seconded by Committee Member Benson, that this Resolution be recommended for approval. Dirk Gowin, Public Works and Assets, spoke to the item. The motion carried by a voice vote and the Resolution was sent to the Consent Calendar.

  8. 4. AN ORDINANCE CREATING A NEW SUBCHAPTER OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT CODE OF ORDINANCES RELATING TO THE PROTECTION OF PUBLIC TREES, TREE CANOPY AND ENVIRONMENTAL INFRASTRUCTURE (AMENDED BY SUBSTITUTION) (AS AMENDED).

    A motion was made by Committee Member Welch, seconded by Committee Member Benson, that this Ordinance be recommended for approval. A motion was made by Committee Member Coan, seconded by Committee Member Benson that this Ordinance be amended by substituion with the Proposed Amendment document (see attached). The following spoke to the item: Council Member Hollander Erin Thompson, Urban Arborist Paul Whitty, Jefferson County Attorney's Office Committee Member Coan withdrew his motion to amend by substitution as the committee did not have enough time to deliberate. A motion was made by Committee Member Coan, seconded by Committee Member Stuckel, that the Ordinance be Tabled. Without objection, the ordinance was Tabled.

  9. 5. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 102, SERIES 2016 AS PERTAINING TO THE 2016-2017 CAPITAL BUDGET AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 249, SERIES 2011 TO FUND A DISTRICT 21 PROJECT FOR GILMORE LANE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT TO BE ADMINISTERED BY LOUISVILLE METRO PARKS AND RECREATION.

    A motion was made by Committee Member Benson seconded by Committee Member Welch, that this Ordinance be recommended for approval. Without objection, the Ordinance was tabled until a representative arrived to speak to the item. A motion was made by Committee Member Benson, Seconded by Committee Member Welch, that the Ordinance be untabled. Without objection, the Ordinance was untabled. Beth Stenberg, Metro Council Financial Advisor, spoke to the item The motion to recommend for approval carried by the following vote and the Ordinace was sent to the Consent Calendar:

  10. 6. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 51.105, 51.201(B), AND 51.507(A) OF THE LOUISVILLE METRO CODE OF ORDINANCES REGARDING WASTE MANAGEMENT.
