   Chair Person Flood called the meeting to order at 1:32 p.m.

2. Roll Call

   Chair Person Flood introduced the committee members and non-committee members present. A quorum was established.

AN ORDINANCE REJECTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND DENYING THE REQUESTED ZONING CHANGE FROM R-5A RESIDENTIAL SINGLE FAMILY, R-4 RESIDENTIAL SINGLE FAMILY AND OR-1 OFFICE/RESIDENTIAL TO R-7 RESIDENTIAL MULTI-FAMILY ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 6500 FOREST COVE LANE AND 7301 RIVER ROAD, CONTAINING A TOTAL OF 9.697 ACRES AND BEING IN LOUISVILLE METRO (CASE NO. 16ZONE1056).    Chair Person Flood stated a technical correction had been made to correct the acreage being rezoned to 9.697 acres in the Ordinance. A motion was made by Committee Member Coan, seconded by Committee Member Engel, that this Ordinance be recommended for approval. Brian Davis, Planning and Design Services, spoke to the item and gave a presentation. Committee Member Reed spoke to the item. A motion was made by Committee Member Reed, seconded by Committee Member Ackerson, that this Ordinance be amended by substitution (see attached). The motion to amend by substitution carried by a voice vote. Julia Williams, Planning and Design Services, spoke to the item. The motion to recommend for approval carried by the following vote and the amended Ordinance was sent to Old Business:

5. 2. AN ORDINANCE ASSIGNING A STREET NAME TO AN UNNAMED ALLEY SOUTH OF FRANKLIN STREET FROM HANCOCK STREET TO WENZEL STREET AS “BRANDEN KLAYKO ALLEY” AND BEING IN LOUISVILLE METRO (CASE NO. 17STREETS1021).

   NOTE: Chair Person Flood relinquished the chair to Vice Chair Stuckel at 2:02 p.m. A motion was made by Committee Member Engel, seconded by Committee Member Coan, that this Ordinance be recommended for approval. Brian Davis, Planning and Design Services, spoke to the item and gave a presentation. NOTE: Chair Person Flood reassumed the chair at 2:04 p.m. Committee Member Coan spoke to the item. Without objection from the primary sponsor, Committee Member Coan and Council Member Sexton Smith were added to the Ordinance as co-sponsors. The motion carried by the following vote and the Ordinance was sent to Old Business to allow additional co-sponsors:

6. 3. AN ORDINANCE CLOSING RACINE, BOHANNON, WARREN AND OLEANDA AVENUES, SOUTH 9TH STREET, HOMEVIEW DRIVE AND SEVEN UNNAMED ALLEYS AND PORTIONS THEREOF LOCATED ON THE WEST SIDE OF CHURCHILL DOWNS RACETRACK AND BEING IN LOUISVILLE METRO (CASE NO. 17STREETS1012).

7. 4. AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE STREET NAME OF A PORTION OF DAVENPORT DRIVE TO MALONE PLACE AND BEING IN LOUISVILLE METRO (CASE NO. 17STREETS1008).

8. 5. AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE STREET NAME OF HOLIDAY TOWERS BOULEVARD TO AIRPORT HOTELS BOULEVARD AND BEING IN LOUISVILLE METRO (CASE NO. 17STREETS1023).

   Without objection, Chair Person Flood adjourned the meeting at 2:12 p.m. *NOTE: Items sent to the Consent Calendar or Old Business will be heard before the full Council at the Metro Council Meeting on October 26, 2017.
