A motion was made by Committee Member Purvis, seconded by Committee Member Parker, that this Resolution be recommended for approval. Jason Canuel, Metro Parks, spoke to this item and stated that this is for a long-term lease agreement with the property owner that owns about one-half acre of land in the southeast corner of the Extreme Park. The motion carried by a voice vote and the Resolution was sent to the Consent Calendar.

The following spoke to this item: - Chair Fowler - Committee Member Purvis - Council Member Chambers Armstrong - Committee Member Mulvihill - Margaret Brosko, Metro Parks The following was discussed: - Question about whether a manager should be in charge of the 9-hole golf courses since there are no professionals with Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) qualifications available - Questions about whether non-profits are managing any of the 9-hole golf courses - Question about whether any of the 9-hole golf courses are being managed by PGA Professionals - Questions and concerns about re-purposing the golf course land - There are three 9-hole golf courses: Crescent Hill Golf Course, Bobby Nichols Golf Course, and Cherokee Golf Course - Some of the golf courses have performance issues - Three of the golf courses are approximately $40,000 in debt - Questions about the revenue projections for each golf course - Question about how the revenue projection compares to private golf courses - Each quarterly revenue projection is based on a contract - Question about who is on payroll for the golf office - Question about whether funds are coming out of the golf cost center for employees who perform other duties - Question about whether there is a range for the revenue projection for each golf course - Question about whether certification or training to be a manager for the golf course is necessary - The First Tee-Louisville is a non-profit that teach kids how to play golf - The First Tee-Louisville operates the Bobby Nichols Golf Course and the Shawnee Golf Course - The percentage to pay back to Metro Government from First Tee-Louisville is 20% - Question about who determines the revenue projections A motion was made by Committee Member Parker, seconded by Committee Member Mulvihill, that this Ordinance be tabled.
