- 1. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT $80,000 FROM CITIES FOR FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT FUND FOR THE FINANCIAL NAVIGATORS PROGRAM IN PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN BANK ON LOUISVILLE AND THE OFFICE OF RESILIENCE AND COMMUNITY SERVICES.ResolutionAction: recommended for approval
A motion was made by Committee Member Benson, seconded by Committee Member Parker, that this Resolution be recommended for approval. The following spoke: - Tameka Laird, Office of Resilience and Community Services - Vice Chair Kevin Triplett The following was discussed: - $81,000.00 in funding will be used for technical assistant and training for the new Navigators Program - Resilience and Community Services will be partnering with Bloomberg, City Finance Foundation, Wells Fargo and AT Mortgage Chase - The Financial Navigators Program is designed to help residents deal with the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic - Working and partnering with others to provide free public services for all Louisville residents - The two Financial Navigators are long time counselors, they cannot provide financial assistance - The Financial Navigators will answer phones, provide financial structure and guidance, identify immediate action steps and make referrals to other services - The money allocated is for the two Financial Navigators The motion carried by a voice vote and the Resolution was sent to the Consent Calendar.
