    Chair Person Shanklin called the meeting to order at 1:36 PM.

    Chair Person Shanklin introduced the committee members and non-committee members present. A quorum was established.

  8. 1. A RESOLUTION HONORING LEE ROBERT JONES BY DEDICATING THE CORNER OF 2ND STREET AND OAK STREET AS “LEE JONES WAY” IN HIS HONOR.
    Resolution
    Action: recommended for approval Passed

    A motion was made by Committee Member Benson, seconded by Committee Member Yates, that this Resolution be recommended for approval. Council President James spoke to the item. The motion carried by a voice vote and the Resolution was sent to the Consent Calendar.

  9. 2. A RESOLUTION HONORING JOHN S. ASHER BY DEDICATING A PORTION OF CENTRAL AVENUE TO BE NAMED “JOHN S. ASHER WAY” IN HIS HONOR.

    Action: recommended for approval Passed

    A motion was made by Committee Member Yates, seconded by Committee Member Benson, that this Resolution be recommended for approval. Vice Chair Triplett and T. Kevin Flanery, Churchill Downs, spoke to the item. Council President James and Council Member Fox requested to be added as Co-Sponsors. The motion carried by a voice vote and the Resolution was sent to the Consent Calendar
