    Chairwoman Woolridge called the meeting to order at 2:36 p.m. and introduced the members and non-members that were present. A quorum was established.

  4. 1. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT FUNDING FROM THE MARCH OF DIMES GREATER KENTUCKY CHAPTER IN THE AMOUNT OF $16,040 TO PROVIDE HEALTHY START CENTERING PREGNANCY SERVICES, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELLNESS. (Action Required By: December 2014)

    A motion was made by Council Member Fleming, seconded by Vice Chair Parker, that this Resolution be recommended for approval by the Metro Council. The motion carried by a voice vote and the Resolution was sent to the Consent Calendar.

A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE AMENDMENT OF THE KENTUCKY CONSTITUTION ยง145 TO RESTORE VOTING RIGHTS TO PERSONS CONVICTED OF FELONIES OTHER THAN TREASON, INTENTIONAL KILLING, A SEX CRIME, OR BRIBERY, THE RIGHT TO VOTE AT THE EXPIRATION OF PROBATION OR FINAL DISCHARGE FROM PAROLE OR MAXIMUM EXPIRATION OF SENTENCE (As Amended).

    Action: recommended for approval

    A motion was made by Council Member Welch, seconded by Vice Chair Parker, that this Resolution be recommended for approval. A motion was made by Vice Chair Parker, seconded by Coucil Member Fleming that this Resolution be amended by adding language excluding those convicted of treason, bribery, intentional murder and sex crimes. The intent is to mirror language in HB 70. The motion carried by a voice vote. A motion was made by Council Member Fleming, seconded by Vice Chair Parker that this Resolution be amended to make the process automatic. The motion carried by a voice vote. Council Member Welch asked to be added as a co-sponsor. The motion to reccomend for approval carried by a voice vote and the Resolution as amended was sent to Old Business.
