A motion was made that this matter be Received and Filed with direction to staff to return September 13, 2011 with a report that explores the Implementation only the ID portion of the card in consideration of the following alternatives 1) the possibility of contracting with San Francisco on a temporary basis to produce Muni ID cards for the City of Oakland; 2) Issuing the Muni ID card without the debit component and later phasing in the debit component later when feasible; and 3) Other alternative options that will provide for a faster implementation of the Muni ID cards.
