Dr. D'Artagnan Scorza, Executive Director of Racial Equity, and Skye Patrick, County Librarian, made a presentation and responded to questions posed by the Board. Supervisor Mitchell instructed the County Librarian to report back to the Board with a plan on how the 1,400 device kits will be allocated equitably among the County Libraries. After discussion, by Common Consent, there being no objection, the report was received and filed; and the County Librarian was instructed to report back to the Board with a plan on how the 1,400 device kits will be allocated equitably among the County Libraries.

Dr. Barbara Ferrer, Director of Public Health, Dr. Rita Singhal, Chief Medical Officer, Department of Public Health, and Dr. Christina Ghaly, Director of Health Services, made a presentation and responded to questions posed by the Board. Supervisor Barger instructed the Director of Public Health to reiterate to businesses and the Small Business Commission that business owners are able to mandate masking in their own business. Supervisor Solis instructed the Director of Public Health to publicize in other languages the information related to deaths associated with COVID-19, as compared to other selected causes. After discussion, by Common Consent, there being no objection, the report was received and filed; and the Director of Public Health was instructed to reiterate to businesses and the Small Business Commission that business owners are able to mandate masking in their own business and to publicize in other languages the information related to deaths associated with COVID-19, as compared to other selected causes.
