Recommendation to conduct a study session to discuss the March 2, 2022 Investigation Report on Allegations Raised in Complaint regarding the City Auditor; and, if appropriate, make recommendations to the City Council, the City Manager, and/or any non-City Manager Departments regarding best practices of the City of Long Beach’s accounting, internal controls, and business practices gathered from the Report.

    A motion was made by Vice Chair Morales, seconded by Commissioner Shotwell, to approve recommendation, as amended, to request City staff to prepare an overview of the City Manager policies on procurement and accounts payable; check with elected officials and the City Clerk whether they have their own policies; if they do have policies, prepare a report with a chart to analyze how it compares to the City Manager polices; and bring back the report within 60 days.
