A motion was made by Member S. Lowenthal, seconded by Vice Chair O'Donnell, to approve recommendation from the Environmental Committee to the City Council to request the City Manager to work with the appropriate staff and agencies to initiate an Air Pollution Study at the Long Beach Airport with the goal of standard monitoring, potentially permanent monitoring at the Long Beach Airport. The motion carried by the following vote:

- Also present: Environmental Planning Officer Angela Reynolds; Deputy City Attorney Lisa Malmsten; South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Principal Deputy District Counsel Barbara Baird; and City Clerk Specialist Gloria Harper. Chair Reyes Uranga gave a brief overview and the goal of the meeting. Vice Chair O’Donnell welcomed everyone to the meeting and gave a presentation regarding the role of Gateway Cities Council of Governments. Chair Reyes Uranga spoke.
