  2. CHAIR'S REMARKS Chair Taeleifi congratulated Angela Reynolds on her promotion to Deputy Director of Development Services. Chair Taeleifi announced the appointment of J. Christopher Lytle as the Port's new Executive Director.
  3. COMMISSIONERS REMARKS Vice Chair Ward announced the progress of the Orizaba Park Expansion, to open Mid-December. All Commissioners were invited to attend the grand opening ceremony in Mid-January. The park now has a sidewalk, which replicates a train track and a sculpture of the front of a train at the end of the sidewalk. Commissioner Shelton remarked on the (9th District) Jobs Creation Summit event promoting education and training held at the Maya Hotel. Commissioner Shelton announced December 1, 2011 Planning Commission meeting where the final overview of the downtown plan will be discussed. Commissioner Greenfeld-Wisner announced the One-day Christmas Store, Shopping with Dignity, at 1950 Lemon Avenue on December 17, 2011. Sponsored by the Balance of Long Beach. Commissioner Greenfeld-Wisner announced a Central Project Area Committee (CPAC) Holiday Potluck at 1900 Atlantic Avenue on December 1, 2011. Commissioner Greenfeld-Wisner announced a Peace Garden workday at Martin Luther King Jr. Park on December 10, 2011, at 1900 Atlantic Avenue, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

BUREAU REMARKS - CONSOLIDATED PLAN Angela Reynolds discussed the Fiscal Year 2013 Consolidated Plan, mentioning that Community Development Block Grant funds will be cut by 12% and the Home funds will be cut by 40%. Angela announced that the Budget and the Long Range Planning Committee meeting will be held on December 7, 2011 at 11:30 a.m., 100 W. Broadway, 5th Floor, Suite 550, conference room. Angela mentioned that staff is all moved in at the new offices and introduced Veronica Ruelas, Clerk Typist. - NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT DIVISION - SLIDE SHOW PRESENTATION Margaret Madden presented a slide show of recent highlights of the Neighborhood Services Bureau.
  5. PRESENTATION OF NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMS - MARGARET MADDEN, NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT DIVISION OFFICER Margaret presented an overview of Neighborhood Improvement activites.
  6. PRESENTATION OF FISCAL YEAR 2012 - 2017 FIVE-YEAR CONSOLIDATED PLANNING PROCESS - ALEM HAGOS, GRANT ADMINISTRATION DIVISION OFFICER Alem presented a slide show about the Five-Year Consolidated Plan and the planning process for the 2012-2017, Consolidated Plan. A hand out was provided. Discussion ensued.

  8. ADJOURNMENT Being no further business, Commissioner Ward moved for adjournment at 11:15 a.m. Commissioner Greenfeld-Wisner seconded the motion. The motion carried, 6-0.
